Troupe bio
Rat Kween improvises and discovers intricate relationships, environments, and characters through a single continuous scene. The improv team was formed during Laugh Riot Improv Festival, the Torch Theatre’s festival for performers who identify as female/non-binary/gender non-conforming. They have performed in the Torch’s 2019 GhostFest improv marathon, and were featured on the first all-virtual Phoenix Improv Festival in 2020. The legend of rats joined together by their tails to form a powerful entity might only be legend. However, the Rat Kween cast believes the inspiration behind it — banding together to mess some stuff up — is a terrific m.o.
