Performer bio
Comedian Visionary Speaks is a Detroit native, born and raised. She is a self proclaimed “Def Comedy Jam kid” because every day after school growing up she would come home and watch old DVDs of Def Comedy Jam, where she studied comedy poineers like Martin Lawrence, Chris Rock, Adele Givens, and Bernie Mac. Comedian Visionary Speaks comedy comes from a perspective of having an old soul while being a millennial. She incorporates stories of growing up in Detroit with the political and social activism of today. She began her career in comedy in the midst of a pandemic after seeing the need for laughter during a dark time in history. She is a story teller of today’s society through the eyes of a everyday homegirl.
